Addictions
Addiction is a chronic brain disorder and involves continued drug use despite the negative consequences. It’s considered a brain disorder because drug use changes the brain’s structure and how it works.
ADHD
According to a national 2016 parent survey conducted by the CDC, 6 in 10 children with ADHD had at least one other mental, emotional, or behavioral disorder. These include conduct and behavior issues, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, and Tourette Syndrome.
Anxiety
Anxiety is one of the disorders that manifests itself both physically and emotionally. Anxiety is easily identifiable by common symptoms like racing thoughts, feeling keyed up or on edge, excessive worry, and self-doubt. Many disorders fall on the anxiety scale.
Depression
Depression is both physically and mentally debilitating and is a leading cause of disability in the United States. Both adults and children suffer from depression and are often dismissed as moody or angry.
